（1）Apply for a IDL
online 网上申请IDL：
1.The IDL is a
NON-Government
document.
IDL是非政府机构签发的公民在他国有驾驶能力的证明翻译文件；
2.The
IDL can't substitute a state-issued driver's license and
a photo ID card.
IDL不能够替代公民本国国内所签发的驾照和公民身份证；
3.The IDL can't verify your
identity.
IDL不能证明你的身份，只是国外身份证明的临时替代文件；
4.The IDL
doesn't give you the permission to drive legally in the
U.S. and any other country without a state-issued
driver's license, a state-issued identification card,
valid immigration documents, or a
passport.
如果该公民没有本国国内驾照，本人身份证，有效的移民证明文件（或者是出国的护照），那么IDL就不能使你在美国以及其他任何一个国家或地区拥有同等的驾驶权利；
5.The IDL can't be used in the country where you
received your state-issued driver's
license.
IDL不能在公民本国使用；
6.If you are a U.S.
resident, an IDL is of no use within the
U.S.
如果你是美国的常住居民，那么IDL在美国就无法使用；
7.All rental car
companies have their own corporation rules. If you plan
to rent a car in some country, you have to call the
rental company and observe the company's rules and
regulations before you buy the
IDL.
汽车租赁公司都有其各自的规章制度。如果您想租车，那么只要您持有本国驾照和国际驾照，并且在充分的了解了该公司的有关规定后，您就可以租车自驾了，而且租金远远低于雇出租车。

for a IDL card online 网上申请IDL
card的须知：
1.The
NON-Government Photo ID does not substitute any
government ID.
该非政府机构的身份证明不能替代公民本国的身份证；
2.The
NON-Government Photo ID can be issued for regular
customers, corporations, private businesses, hospitals,
medical offices, real estate, construction companies,
schools and colleges, various organizations, Emergency
Medical ID Cards & more.
一般的消费者在国外都可以使用此身份证明，该身份证明还适用于，大中小企业，学校，医疗等各种各样的机构，等等. |
